Life is better at the beach, isn't it? The repetitive bass beat of waves crashing against the shore, the smell of misting salt water, seagulls singing in the distance. The feel of light layers brushing up against you in the breeze, bare-feet halfway in the cool sand, soft beach towels - we already feel more relaxed just imagining it! Now if only there was a way to bring the beach home with you without all the mess (i.e. sand, seaweed, crabs). Plus, where would you put all that ocean water? Instead, what you can do bring the feeling of the beach to your home. That feathery feeling that lightens the soul and breathes serenity into your life. Yeah, you can have that. Right in your kitchen! Feel like you never left the beach with these design tips we've gathered below.

Light Base One reason we love the beach is its very vastness. Keep things open and bright with light shades and features. Backsplash, countertops, hardware, and appliances should all reflect light to help emulate the coast's immensity.

Seaside Tones Take some cues from nature. Clam blue, sea glass green, sand dollar grey, pearl white, and every shade in between highlight the cool shades of the seaside. Add a splash of color with inspiration straight from ocean life. Keep it neutral or make it vibrant.

Glass Features From Japanese fishing glass floats to sea glass tumbled by the ocean over many years, glass is a big part of the beach atmosphere. Add this glass through frosted window cabinet doors, backsplash, vases, and lighting.

Coastal Accents There's no easier way to set a coastal theme than adding the very accents that decorate the beach itself. Sand dollars, starfish, driftwood, beachgrass, netting, sketches of ocean life, nautical rope, sand, and so on. As with any kitchen decor, we suggest keeping it simple and clean since this is the place you prepare foods.

Accent Lighting Embrace your sailor side with nautical-themed lighting straight off the fishing boat or select pendants that project the essence of the seaside. What's your favorite part of the beach and how would you incorporate it in your kitchen?
