Ready for a new dishwasher? Discover the latest and greatest features before you buy your next dishwasher. Silent Cycle Nothing ruins a dinner party quicker than the loud whirring or humming of your dishwasher. Dishwasher cycles can last a long time, averaging anywhere from 90 minutes to 3 hours per load, which can quickly turn into forever when your dishwasher is noisy. Dishwashers have since advanced with smoother motors and extra insulation to deliver cycles as quiet as a mouse. Bosch is notorious for developing dishwashers with the lowest decibels for the ultimate quietness, ranging from a little over 46 dBA to a silent 39 dBA. In fact, many Bosch dishwashers are so quiet they require the Info Light™ to let you know it’s even on. Adjustable Upper Racks Now you can fit larger, difficult-shaped items in your dishwasher thanks to an adjustable upper rack, such as the EZ-2-Lift™ rack found in select Whirlpool dishwashers. This feature allows you the flexibility to easily move the upper rack up or down a few inches to make room for big items to fit on either the lower or upper rack. You can also remove the upper rack entirely for much larger items like roasters, pots, or cookie sheets. A Third Rack No more wasting precious space with hard-to-fit items. The latest dishwasher craze is a flexible third rack that put every square inch to use. The third rack allows you to place items from large cutlery and serving spoons to cereal bowls and cups for the ultimate capacity. The extra rack, such as the Bosch MyWay™ Rack, allows you to maximize space of the lower rack without sacrificing space elsewhere. Wash Zones Some models dedicate a certain area of the dishwasher for a deep clean, such as GE Appliances’ Deep Clean Silverware Jets or dedicated bottle Jets. Select GE Appliance dishwashers provide two separate wash zones so you can choose to wash only the upper rack or only the lower rack for a true half load. Never wait again for a full cycle. A Stainless Steel Interior Tub A far more durable material than plastic, stainless steel is able to resist stains and corrosion inside a dishwasher. It can also withstand more heat so water can be heated to a much higher temperature to sanitize your dishes. The steel surface also retains heat which increases the efficiency of your dishwasher drying cycle to save you energy and money. Heated Dry Enjoy dry dishes after every load with a heated dry option, like the Advanced ProDry™ System found in select KitchenAid appliances. This feature combines heated dry and condensation removal to completely remove moisture in the air. Stainless steel walls also help the process by not retaining as much water as plastic does while a layer of mastic on the exterior door insulates and stores heat during the cycle. The result is perfectly dry dishes with zero water stains. Which dishwasher feature do you wish you had?
