New Year's Eve Dinner Party Ideas

Posted on Dec 1st, 2021

Hosting a New Year’s party this year? Here are some tips to get it just right.

Don’t Skimp On The Appetizers
Appetizers are like the pre-party of dinner. Get fancy this New Year’s with savory appetizers your guests will look forward to almost more than the entree. Appetizers should be light to not fill-up your guests too much, but also flavorful to delight the senses so consider this is your chance to pair some unexpected yet delicious flavors together. Charcuterie boards are still a popular app that lets your guests pair fine wines with cured meats and rich cheeses and light fruits. You could keep it simple with cocktail weenies and deviled eggs or try something different like these Jalapeno Pimento Cheese Balls

Opt For A Fancier Entree
Whereas Thanksgiving and Christmas entrees are already decided on thanks to tradition, New Year’s Eve gives us a little more freedom to get creative. This is a great opportunity to try something new and even a little fancier than the usual baked chicken or meatballs. We are here to reign the New Year after all so let’s start with a bang. It’s a great time to splurge a little, maybe on some lobster tail, ribeye or prime rib, or these Apple Bacon Stuffed Pork Chops.

Custom New Year’s Eve Drink
Champagne is the classic New Year’s Eve go-to to make those New Year’s toasts. While it’s good to keep a bottle on hand because we don’t want to mess with tradition after all, try your hand at mixology with a custom drink designed just for your party. Discover a unique mixed drink you can readily mix for your guests or let your guests serve themselves champagne with a punch bowl full of this Prosecco Punch recipe.

Always Provide A Photo Op
New Year’s is all about new beginnings and starting off on the right foot. Provide a scene that makes your guests proud to share how they reigned in the New Year by setting the scene for the perfect photo op. Whether you set out the fancier dishware, bring out the expensive champagne glasses, dim the lights and add some sparkle with Christmas lights, or even create an actual photo booth with a gold fringe background.
