Originally only wanting to replace the countertops, the owner of this 1928 Colonial single family home soon realized they desired an entirely new kitchen. We started by changing the layout to create balance and add more storage which required a creative solution to covering a nonessential window, exchanged cheap IKEA cabinets with the worldly-style of Omega Madrid cabinets in Alder stained in Autumn featuring glass-doors on the upper doors, replaced countertops with Cambria® Greystone quartz that tribute the stony shores of Ireland’s overcast coast, designed a gorgeous decorative backsplash with hand painted 4” x 4” tiles in Duquesa Acqua Catarina from Architectural Ceramics, and completed the look with brand new KitchenAid appliances. Our client is so delighted with their new transitional kitchen it may become their new favorite room in the whole house.
