I bought the Trash Compactor about a month ago. We previously had a kitchenAid Trash Compactor and needed to update to Stainless Steel. Works as well if not better than the previous model. Beautiful appearance with all my new applicances.

i PURHCHASE LAST WEEK AND I WAS DISAPPOINTED OF THE NOISE MADE BY THE THE KICK BAR THAT OPENS THE COMPACTOR,, JUST A CHEAP SOUNDING PLASTIC NOISE WHEN I CLOSE THE DOOR. IT DOES NOT AFFECT THE OPERATION OF THE COMPACTOR, JUST REALLY SOUNDS CHEAP AND WE PAID A LOT FOR IT.. I HAD THE WARRANTY SERVICE LOOK A IT AND THEY SAID THAT IS JUST THE WAY THEY ARE MADE,, THEY ALSO SAID i COULD REMOVE THE BAR AND THAT WOULD TAKE CAR OF THE NOISE,, I DID NOT DO THAT I WILL JUST LIVE WITH THE NOISE,, HAS ANYONE ELSE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS.. I PURCHASE THIS COMPACTOR TO MATCH ALL OF MY KITCHEN AIDE APPLIANCES AND IT REPLACED THE SAME COMPACTOR

This is the first trash compactor we have ever owned, but it is a wonderful appliance for our large family. It works well and has an amazing crushing power to help decrease our trash output.

Hidden controls

This is the second Kitchen Aid compactor. I love that it compacts so well. My first one had the controls on the exterior. This one looks nice, but there is a huge handle and for someone unfamiliar with trash compactors your first inclination would be to open it with the handle not the foot pedal. I’m not sure if pulling on the handle will eventually damage anything.
