Way louder than expected + missing parts + smell

I was waiting for this dishwasher for seven months. Once it finally arrived, it came without brackets for attaching the dishwasher on the sides. Thankfully, my old GE dishwasher had the brackets, which we could use for the new one. This saved the installation. However, the dishwasher is much louder than the previous model I had. One of my most important criteria for selecting a new model was that the db level is lower that for the previous one, which had 51db and it was quiet enough. This model is listed as quiet (48-50db). Imagine my surprise when the new one is much louder than the previous one. Loud enough to be counstantly aware of it running. With the old one, I was forgetting it was running, being reminded of it only occasionally during the certain steps in the wash cycle. Not sure how to resolve this. Also, the dishwasher smells pretty awful. First it was the smell of the machine oil, now it is the smell of a dead fish. Mind you, I’m a vegan, so no dishes with any kind of animal products have been in my dishwasher. It has been about three weeks. I’m still hopeful the smell will go away. Having said all that, the dishwasher cleans the dishes pretty well. It cleared all the coffee spots on my white mugs, which I was not able to wash off during the months of hand washing. If not for the loudness, I would have been pretty happy with the purchase.

After dealing with my old dishwasher that did not get my dishes clean or dry, I am excited to own a dishwasher that does an excellent job, is quiet and efficient. I am very pleased and would recommend this appliance.

I find it difficult to figure out the digital "buttons" as this did not come with a good manual. Guess I prefer "old-fashioned" knobs, buttons, and dials.
