We have been very pleased with our choice of this over the range microwave. It is quiet during microwaving, fan is much less intrusive than the dedicated unit we had for 40 years and pulls more air/fumes as a bonus. Of particular notice, the end of cycle tone and reminder tones are a real treat! Just loud enough to hear but do not scare you when sounding off. Thank you KitchenAid!!!

We love the microwave, with the low profile that gives us a lot more light on the cook top below. If we could have vented to the outside, it would have been beneficial. The features are excellent. This would have been a 5-star rating except you CANNOT hear the buzzer! We had a warranty person look at the microwave and they even called a Whirlpool (they manufacture this brand) and had them listen to the buzzer. They indicated that this was typical, but I do not believe anyone would design a buzzer to be barely above audible decibel level. Crazy! You absolutely cannot hear at level 1 for sound setting, with your ear next to microwave you can barely hear level 2 (if no other noise in room) and level 3 is only slightly better. If water running in sink, you cannot hear ANY of the sounds. When microwave is running, the motor / microwave generator is 10X the decibel level so you just listen for the motor to turn off. Forget the buzzer!

The low profile design and WHISPER QUIET Ventilation System is simply outstanding. Also, the motor which is powerful literally catches the grease and Odors to push out clean fresh air. Couldn’t ask for more! I would like to say though be careful if ordered by Homedepot as not all the technician as know how to install unit. We had severe issues as the unit could’ve fallen according to the second delivery team who had to order a new unit and reinstall at a later date. I would also say Kitchenaid or Whirlpool Corp really needs to focus on better customer service as far as working timely to get these matters worked out; they are just as much at fault as Home Depot for not enduring their retailers know how to install properly and so forth.

When we bought our new house the existing microwave was only 12" from the burner on the stove. Thats not safe. We installed this beauty and now we have 16" to work with. Huge space difference, plus the hidden buttons inside the door are a great feature that keep the buttons clean while cooking on the stove!
