GE Profile vs. GE Standard Dishwasher

Posted on March 5th, 2021

GE is a well-established giant in the world of appliances offering many options in the dishwashing world (we sell 100 varieties at Bray & Scarff). With so many options to choose from, one question we often receive is what are the main differences between the GE Profile and the GE dishwasher? With almost 75 models to choose from in the GE line and 13 in the GE Profile line, it can be difficult to discern. Allow us to be of some assistance.

GE Appliances Dishwashers
The GE standard line offers entry level, straightforward reliable and cost-efficient dishwashers (starting at just $300). Most of the GE dishwashers come with Dry BoostTM, Steam & Sani options, Water Leak Sensor and a High Wash Performance. Some at the higher end of this line even offer an optional 3rd rack and bottle jets. The decibel level for GE standard ranges between 46-60+ dB, equalling a louder experience. They are simpler and more straightforward to use than GE Profile appliances, and thus a great option for anyone not needing fancy features and who do not mind hearing their dishwasher running.

GE Profile Dishwashers
The GE Profile lifts the standard GE appliance line to new heights. With modern styling and the most recent technologies, Profile offers the standard features of the GE model line as well as a stainless steel interior tub and Piranha Hard Food disposer. Ranging from 39-47 dB, GE Profile dishwashers are almost silent. The higher end of the Profile dishwashers offer specific bottle and silverware jets as well as WiFi connect, allowing your dishwasher to be easily integrated into the GE Smart Home.

If you’re looking for the best value and price and do not require a completely silent dishwasher, the GE line will meet your daily needs. For the more discerning homeowner looking for technological advancements, modern style, and a silent dishwasher, the GE Profile line will be a more suitable fit. Whichever line you choose, the good news is that GE and GE Profile lines are designed to match, so a kitchen can incorporate appliances from either line without interrupting the style and theme of the room.
